(Unusually) recorded & released as Noel Gallagher, rather than Oasis. Demonstrates his musical talent extremely effectively Cool Cool

Different kind of stuff by Noel than what we're used to. Interesting in the first time of listening, nothing spectacular though. Boring, but suits ok along with the credits.

If it was written by Andy bell and released under Oasis, you would probably be ashamed of its existence.

not at all, but you're missing the point i think.

i mean i'd be very surprised if it were released as an Oasis song no matter who wrote it. but as you realise it's not supposed to be an Oasis song and it is what it is, a film score and i too think it's ok for that. i also think along with Daytura that it shows off Noels creative diversity more.

No no, I'm not missing any point here. I know it shouldn't have been released as an Oasis song, as it has nothing to do with the band, but is just Noel's own project. Maybe I put it a bit unclearly, but all I meant was that it is quite a repetitive song afterall, not saying it's shit, it fills it's place ok, but it doesn't "Demonstrate his musical talent extremely effectively", it's just different material by Noel, so that's an overstatement in my opinion. I just think it's a bit stupid and unfair that when Noel does something like this, some people are like "oohh, genius" and at the same time says that A Quick Peep is useless crap. I'm not a big Andy Bell fan at all and I think both of these songs are ok, nice little tunes, nothing more.

i guess some people are just not keen on Andy. Daytura (like me) are Noel fans in particular. i like Andy's songs myself but if i didn't, i guess that's ok. everyone has personal tastes and people will find impossible to convince others to like something they say they don't. people have to allow a song to grow on them in their own time if you catch my drift.

i think the only way around to win an argument is to speak in Andy's defence on why you think he's a gifted songwriter/musician without bringing Noel into it, make no comparisions. if people still get disagree or get argumentative with you, then just accept their opinion and let it wash. stay cool Cool

You don't get what I mean here. I'm not trying to make this Noel vs Andy at all and sonne, I'm not going to defend Andy's abilities as a songwriter, cos I don't really care that much tbh and I certainly am not trying to win an argument, nor trying to get anyone like a song they don't. I just brought up a point about DD, how I think he likes the songs if Noel's written them and dislikes them if Andy is behind them. Noel obviously is more gifted songwriter than Andy, but that's not the point. I just find it weird how he thinks that Teotihuacan is such a great piece of work and A Quick Peep is the total opposite, while neither of them are neither very good or bad, just nice instrumentals. DD is making this Noel vs Andy if anybody. It would be nice to hear his opinions on the songs in the forthcoming album, if he didn't know the writer beforehand. Wink

Very Happy And I'm staying cool, only the things and subjects are "arguing", not the people. Cool

People should be free to express their opinions on an internet forum, cos that brings up discussion, right? If everyone is seemingly agreeing on everything, although they necessarily didn't, this will be a boring place.
