The song that first set off the other side of Oasis, the Noel ballads.
It's a beautifully crafted song and was I guess it was the one which first made me a proper Noelite. His voice is really strong and puts all his emotion into the song.
I heard people slate the lyrics in the past "I'd like to be under the sea, but I'd prob'ly need a phone" calling it terrible, but I argue that it isn't. It might read nonsense, but sense can be made from it. Like if they don't understand the final verse "But you're gonna need a line, need a line..." then they're just not well adversed on narcotic slang
Well many songs by different artists are ridiculously cryptic and obscure anyway. it's written in a way to spark off the listeners imagination and this one does.
I also love the fingerpick lead guitar at the end, it is magical to listen to. As well as being their first Noel ballad from their first single which was released before the DM Vinyl with Sad Song, it's also arguably one of the finest Noel ballads altogether imo.
