"Take That" Says Oasis Just "Stand Around And Sings"

London, England (BANG) - "Take That" has taken a swipe at Oasis saying they just "stand around and sing."

The former boy band - whose new album "Circus" will be released on December 1 - insist their rival stadium tour next year will be more exciting than the rockers' basic show.

Both tours include dates at London's Wembley Stadium and in Manchester, where both bands are from.

Group member Howard Donald said: "There's a totally different energy to the two shows. We're all about the spectacle, putting on an amazing show for the fans, with lots of high energy and dancing."

"Oasis are great - if you just want to see a band stand still and sing. They have a different kind of energy."

Howard's fellow bandmate Mark Owen added: "It's like all the boys coming home."

"I really want to go and see Oasis but if finances make people choose one or the other, then come and see us."

Mark, who comprises Take That along with Howard, Gary Barlow and Jason Orange, also revealed plans to get in touch with "American Idol" judge Simon Cowell to see if he could recommend any promising acts from his U.K. TV show "Britain's Got Talent."

He said: "The album's called 'Circus' but we don't want the animal rights outside trying to shut us down. Maybe we'll be able to get a dog and a cat. We need to phone Simon Cowell."

idiots. gigs are not about spectacle, dancing and whatever. it's all about the music, if the music is great you don't have to do anything else. they probably know their music is shit that's why they "put on a spectacle", probably the only reason people go to see them. they're not even remotely in the same league as oasis.

To be honest look how thats been taken out of context where did they say thats a bad thing theres even a part saying "Oasis are great" god i hate journalists.

it is the media that makes every thing big but otherwise they said oasis just stand and thing but they sing live compared with take that they sing most of the time playback I think .

I do not know what happened Metallica is coming to Vienna on the 14/5/09 and their gig is sold out within 180min Mad

ok Metallica is great band but what about oasis they are better miles away what happened to people Sad

I hope that oasis sell much ticket but I do not know how to find it out. maybe dollrock can help me in this matter Exclamation

I do agree with you on the bold parts Laughing

... but I think it's a bit rediculous for us to get anoyed at them for saying that (It obviously wasn't ment in a horrible way) when if Noel had said something as small as that then we would be sticking up for him saying it had been taken out of context etc... just a thought Smile

Take That never attack anybody, and they like Oasis. This was taken out of context trying to start some kind of fight to sell papers.

I HATE this kind of shock media. This has what has caused the end of Russell Brand show on BBC Radio 2. I'm gonna miss that show and especially when Noel was on it. Crying or Very sad

Exactly they didnt say anything against them at all but the title suggests they did this is why fans get angry etc, crap journalism.

you may be right, it was a bit exagerated by the media, but i still don't agree with them saying that gigs with spectacle, dancing are better. at least that's the impression i got from what i read.
