I decided to start playing guitar on new years, saved money for a month and today I've bought it: an Epiphone Les Paul 100. I know it's not the best but I guess it is good enough for a start. Got any tips for starters? Cool

I'll introduce myself too. I'm Mans, a 19 year old Dutchman and have few guitar experience. I played classic guitar for a year. Oasis is not, and has never been, famous in the Netherlands. I only found out about them a year back and have been in love with their music ever since.

Someone said they might start a new tour with the arrival of their new album. Can anyone confirm this? If so, even if they don't leave England, I'm def. going!

Oasis lives forever!

Weclome to oasisrock. I do believe you are the first from Netherlands! Smile Lovely guitar. Probably one regret of mine is not haveing one of them. Sad

If you need any help at all you can always post a topic here! Smile

My first tip would be to learn songs such as...

Live Forever
Whatever
Wonderwall

Dont play with distortion, play with clean chanel or even play without it plugged in. Get into the rythym of playing chords first.

nice guitar Cool

if you're serious about learning, i sugggest you also save up for a nice semi-acoustic guitar. many oasis songs sounds great on acoustic, Wonderwall in particular to name just one Very Happy

Edit: oh, and you'll learn so much more also to have both, it's easier to learn to fingerpick on acoustic (acoustics also sound nicer imo).

Welcome Mans!

That is a superb guitar!! Same as mine! You will be very happy with it, it creates a fantastic sound and is good quality too.

I've only been playing 1 year and am amazed how quickly I've picked it up. Work on the basic chords and it won't be long before you can play some easy Oasis songs.

Try Songbird - its got to be the easiest!

Let us know how you get on with your learning and practising. Any questions feel free to ask

Nice guitar. My soon to be brother in law is saving up for a Gibson Les Paul one. That is AU$4,000. But he is lucky enough to know people at Billy Hyde Music so he can get $1,300 off the price. ($2700)

If I can ever afford a new guitar I know who I'm going to ask Smile

I took your advice and bought a nice acoustic a while back.

Let's just say I love the Cabernet Sauvage gig

Playing has been great but hard so far. I'm not that big of a talent I guess, but I will not give up. The best songs I can play are Wonderwall, Whatever, Live Forever, Cast No Shadow, Yellow and the Scientist atm.

That guitar from the link there looks a lot like Noel although that's an epiphone and its about 200 quid, was looking at that the other day as i want to upgrade already.
