Do any of you guys want to collaborate on an Oasis tribute album - a cover of the entire Morning Glory album? If you do, just post here, and the song(s) you want to cover. However, there are a few requirements you must add. You must of course be able to have recording equipment. Your chance to shine Sonne Cool

Paul reckons it's a bad idea, but I'll say it anyway. I was considering just getting you all to play parts of the songs you wanted to do (eg someone playing lead guitar on Some Might Say, then acoustic on Champagne Supernova or something), but that's your decision. I am still practising at my mixing skills when it comes to music but I might be able to get a good sound depending. If nobody wants to (or can't) play bass or drums, I can do that.

Only problem is uploading and downloading. I have dial up, y'see. Takes a while for things to upload/download. Of course, if someone wants to do rhythm guitar and just upload it afterwards, I can lay a drum and bassline. Handclaps are appreciated too.

1. What instruments you're going to play?
I'm probably guessing this, but I'm saying that the vast majority of Oasis Rock regulars all play guitar. No problem. If you play piano that'd be great too for songs like DLBIA, Wonderwall and She's Electric.

Of course, if you want to do an acoustic solo piece that's certainly not out of the question.

2. Vocals or backing vocals?[/n]
Do you wish to do lead or backing vocals? Quite simple.

[b]3. What about the Swamp Song excerpts?

I'm going to leave that to you guys on whether or not to include the two excerpts or just do the full song, and have Step Out in there as well - like it was meant to be on the actual album before Stevie Wonder demanded $$$. Sad

That's about it, but I'm just going to put this here. It's a chart thing of what people want to do.

I've uploaded a video of me playing rhythm guitar for Champagne Supernova on YouTube. I played along with a backing track of drums and synths.

Who is Paul, who reckons this is a bad idea? I think it's an interesting idea.

how would we even plan something like this. should we wait for any percussion tracks to be laid down first before we add to anything? the timing is crucial.

Good point, but you can also do the rhythm guitar part using the metronome, so there doesn't have to be a drum track first, I think.

All I was saying was that It would be quicker to make the projects as 1 per person instead of mixing though by no means that its a bad idea to share mixing. It will just take longer...

We have no hurry. I have a Wonderwall cover that I made 2,5 years ago, but I don't like my vocals in it, as my voice works better on it having the capo at the first fret. It also doesn't have any drums and the bassline is made using an acoustic guitar. Also the piano riff at the end is made with guitar. I would like if someone could add at least some drums and vocals to it.

I may post it here someday.

when i record i usually start off with just the rhythm guitar, and lay the drum track second thing. but i can do percussion first if you want me to.

do you want to post a link to it for me? I can add drums and stuff to it if you want. And then Schneider can add vocals Razz

And you're right, we are in no hurry. We're not being threatened by Sony or EMI to release it before Christmas.
